Deji and Olajide Olatunji: When Your African Parents Are YouTube Stars…

Africans will say charity begins at home but in the Olatunjis’ case, we’ll say content begins at home.

19 year old Deji Olatunji and 22 year old Olajide (JJ) Olatunji are British-born YouTubers who produce crazy content that cover gaming, pranks, challenges and skits, which sometimes feature their parents.

Deji began Comedy Shorts Gamer (CSG) in December 2011; today, he has over 5 million subscribers while his older brother Olajide (known as KSI Olajidebt or KSI) began uploading video content as far back as 2009 and has over 11 million subscribers.

What makes these two chaps distinct is the fact that their parents are not nominal actors in their YouTube videos. They play active roles in their kids’ videos.

These videos are why Mr. and Mrs. Olatunji are one supercool couple.

The Olatunji parents have become so accustomed to the camera that they divulge ‘family secrets’ the normal African family will consider too personal to share with outsiders.

Also, their performances on CSG skits are totally hilarious.

Mr. and Mrs. Olatunji are good examples of parenting in this time when social media is a lucrative industry. With their help and encouragement, Forbes estimated that Olajide made about $4.5million in 2015.

If that’s not encouragement, I wonder what else is.

Looking forward to Mr. Mrs. Olatunji’s YouTube channel.
