Since I left my former life as a banker in 2014 and took the leap of faith into the marketing communications industry, I’ve been lucky to lead over 100 IDAfricans – a colourful collection of brilliant creatives; writers, artists, designers, communicators, strategists, marketers, engineers and more.
Together, we’ve done some amazing work through the years and made quite a number of brands and businesses better, happier and more loved by the people they care about. In 70 months, we’ve worked on over 150 campaigns for over 30 big brands. We’ve enjoyed an average year-on-year revenue growth of over 40% since launch. We’ve had staff compensation increase by at least 2x across all levels during the last 3 years. And the goal is to still grow these numbers by 50% over the next 2 years.
As we approach the 6th anniversary of IDA’s birth, I believe it’s a perfectly good time to take stock of our growth and reinforce the focus on our original vision – to do things differently. To be so far from the industry norm; to be the cool kids who do technology-powered marketing communications in crazy, creative ways that will leave jaws dropping!
And now, more than ever, I’m fully convinced that for IDAfricans to win this self-declared battle against the evil forces of mediocrity threatening the marketing, communications and media universe, we must enlist some more unconventional warriors to join our elite squad of Unusuals.

Although, I can’t yet promise that you’ll buy a Tesla with your IDA pay package, you surely can buy two Ferraris, a Tesla and a yacht with what you’ll earn from everything you’ll learn while creating magic with us at IDA!
We can’t yet promise you an all expense paid trip to the Maldives, but we can promise you the flexibility of remote work from anywhere you want. That, with UNLIMITED vacation days in the calendar year!
Plus: we’ll pay you well, provide good healthcare and life cover, and really good training. We only ask that you’re exactly what the doctor recommended because, you know, we’re actually trying to do magic.
So, here’s my pitch to the Unusual Word Weavers, Telepathic Thinkers, Crafty Creators and Magic Makers out there who want to do exciting things in marketing communications, media and tech. Come join us at ID Africa.
