Make your Youtube more social with Uptime, a new iPhone app created by a team from Google’s internal incubator, Area 120, which allows you watch videos with your friends.
When you’re watching a video, your profile icon floats across the screen, and you can comment on the video or post fun emojis to express your thoughts with anyone watching the video the same time as you or at a later time. You can also tap on the screen to leave “sparkles” on the video itself, which can only be seen by people you’re watching with in real-time.
Say hello to #Uptime! Share and watch videos together. Download now from the App Store https://t.co/Bwo7e4xCgy.

Other apps have tried in the past to offer co-watching experiences, but Uptime’s more playful style is more fun as it is possible to still enjoy it with friends even when they’re not available to join and watch immediately.
The app however does not allow for private messages, only public ones that can be viewed by many.
