As part of Twitter’s ongoing global efforts to build, maintain and encourage credible conversations on its platform, Twitter plans to remove locked accounts from follower counts across profiles globally, this action will subsequently reduce the number of followers displayed on many profiles and eliminate bots.

Twitter confirms that most people will experience followers reduction by four followers or fewer, while others with large followers may experience a significant drop.

The big boys at Twitter understand that this may be difficult for some, but they believe that transparency and accuracy makes Twitter a more trusted platform for public conversation.
