Yasamin Alttahir, Director of Global Marketing, Communications and External Affairs at The King’s Trust International, will speak at Africa Breakfast Convos (ABC) 2026 in New York. With experience spanning government, diplomacy, international advocacy and strategic communications, Alttahir brings a global policy perspective to a gathering focused on Africa’s growth and influence beyond the continent. ABC 2026 will take place on Friday, September 25, at the World Trade Center, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81), addressing key international mechanisms such as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
Alttahir’s career has taken her across some of the most complex areas of international policy and communications. She has worked on issues involving conflict and post-conflict countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as campaigns responding to threats against democracy and shaping international policy.
Before joining The King’s Trust International, she served as Associate Director of Global Crisis Advocacy at Open Society Foundations and held strategic communications roles within the United Kingdom government. Her experience spans public affairs, government communication, crisis response and international advocacy, giving her a view of how institutions communicate and build influence across borders.
At The King’s Trust International, Alttahir leads global marketing, communications and external affairs, supporting the organisation’s work across markets and international partnerships.
At ABC 2026, Alttahir will join Hackim Abdul, Director of Citi’s Public Sector Group for Africa; and Otunba (Dr.) Bimbola Ashiru, Chairman, Blackcod Group and Group Director, Odu’a Investment Company Limited, for a high-stakes panel. Stephanie Busari, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SBB Media and former CNN correspondent, will moderate the discussion.
Kayode Akintemi, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of News Central TV; Akunna Cook, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Next Narrative Africa; Claudine Moore, Managing Director for Africa at Allison Worldwide; and Ayeni Adekunle, Chief Executive Officer of BHM Holdings, will also speak at the event.
