In the 1990s, we were accustomed to rectangular printed photos that were either kept in two ways:
- a. albums which were strategically placed in sitting rooms or enlarged and framed for all to see (thanks to mums)
- b. Placed on kitchen refrigerators with fruity magnets for mums’ viewing pleasure (it’s all about mums)
However, things have changed since the advent of mobile phone cameras and the content sharing nature of social media.
Consequently, Polaroid – the 1970s camera known for instant photos – has made an attempt at seducing photo freaks into going back to instant printed photos. This attempt is called Polaroid Snap and it costs $99 (equivalent to N19,503, if N1 = $197).

Polaroid Snap serves the same purpose as Polaroid’s SX-70 created in 1970s, except that this time Snap is digital. The cute rainbow design on the left side (front view) of the camera reminds us of the classic Instagram logo. Snap has a 10-megapixel sensor, shoots 1080p Full HD video, microSD card slot and a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD at the back that lets users line up shots or even select photos to print at any time.
See Mashable’s tech product analyst, Raymond Wong’s review of the camera below.
Since Polaroid Snap’s printed photos are not produced in the regular rectangular storable format, here are 5 creative ways to use the photos.
- 1. As collaged wallpapers in your home or office
If you’re one of those who hates paint and loves art, you should consider making a collaged wallpaper of your most interesting moments, favourite things or people, events, etc. Imagine waking up to pictures of plenty pictures of Bae in your room. That would definitely be a lit morning.
- 2. As refrigerator stickers
Mothers and Grandmothers should love this as it will keep the best memories fresh.
- 3. As car photos
Who says you can’t put pictures in your car? You can even use the photos of reminders of who you need to see and where you need to be.
