Do you trust Paypal’s new one touch payment system?

Payment giant, PayPal in a bid to streamline digital checkout has introduced a one touch payment system for web and mobile browsers. This runs contrary to the traditional process, which needed at least a password to facilitate payment for purchases from a merchant’s website.

The newly introduced one touch for web and mobile browsers is similar to the mobile App one touch, which was previously launched. The new feature allows users to make payment in one click after an initial PayPal login with password.

The aim of the one touch system is to ensure that customers do not have to continually enter in their username and password every time they want to pay using PayPal. This is to ease the check out process which can be tiring for users who forget their username or password.

The new feature comes at a time when there is a growing trend towards streamlining digital payments from touch communication systems like Apple pay and Amazon’s dash buttons. However it remains to be seen how efficient and effective the new feature will be to users especially in providing seamless user experience during checkout.
