Celebrating the Soldiers at the Forefront of the Fight Against Coronavirus

Dear health workers,

We think you’re absolutely amazing. This World Health Day, we’d like to let you know how great a job we think you’re doing. Thank you for all you do to keep us healthy, and for how you have all risen to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here are a few reasons we think you’re so cool:

1. You risk your life for ours

As health workers, you’re the first respondents – the soldiers in the front line of the battle against coronavirus (and every other deadly disease). The enemy is invisible and deadly, but you bravely push your skills and knowledge against them every day.

2. You’re patient with us

‘Can I contract the coronavirus through mosquito bites?’
‘If I drink hot water, will it protect me from coronavirus?’

With a long suffering sigh, you patiently correct our misconceptions, tell us that our coughs do not equate to coronavirus, and teach us to wash our hands properly.

Thank you.

3. There’s no self-isolation for you

The world is experiencing a global pandemic and while most of us are observing social distancing, you will have to work through night shifts, weekend shifts, and through the lockdown to keep us safe.

4. You are superheroes

Despite challenging working conditions, and not always having access to the needed facilities and equipment, you continue to show up and work hard to ensure that health services are available to the public.

You may wear scrubs, gloves, and surgical masks, but you’ll always be our superheroes.

Thank you for all you do and for the care you give us all.

Happy World Health Day.

With love and socially distant regards.
