60 Second Videos & More: Instagram Just Destroyed YouTube. Flawless Victory.

While IG users have been busy looking for ways to beat Instagram’s dechronological timeline, IG was busy preparing to make the most incredible announcement, at the detriment of YouTube.

Instagram will soon allow 60 second videos!

“We want to bring you fun, flexible and creative ways to create and watch video on Instagram. As part of our continued commitment, you’ll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in up to 60 seconds of video. This is one step of many you’ll see this year.

In the last six months, the time people spent watching video increased by more than 40 percent. And longer videos mean more diverse stories from the accounts you love, whether it’s Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) hanging out with friends or beauty star Bretman Rock’s (@bretmanrock) latest makeup tutorial.”

It doesn’t end here.

Instagram will let its users make videos from multiple video cuts in their camera roll!

For iOS, we’re also bringing back the ability to make videos out of multiple clips from your camera roll. To learn more about multi-clip video on iOS, check out the Instagram Help Center.

Content creators are super excited about this and so are we… although to share 60 second videos, you may have to update your IG app, meaning you’ll be forced to experience any other change… Hmm.

Whatever.

Until the bad comes, we’re happy about this blessing.

IG has proved that social listening and user experience is absolutely key when it comes to digital and content marketing.

Maybe if YouTube had killed its unwanted pre-roll ads, this wouldn’t have happened… but who knows, it just might surprise us…

But for now…
