What Tweeps Should Know About #TPL4

Today is the fourth edition of TPL (short form for Twitter Premier League).
For those who have never attended, here’s what you should know and expect from #TheTPL.

#TheTPL in 140 Characters
#TPL is a networking event that taps into the Nigerian passion for football and aims to blur the line between social media and real life.

#Football
The TPL currently comprises 8 teams. 6 of these teams compete in the male tournament – the Blues, the Cubs, the Guns, the Rebels, the Red Devils, the Saints.

The last 2 teams compete in the ladies tournament – the Panthers and the Tsarinas.

Everyone on each team is a stranger to the next team member. This is because all of the team members were ‘recruited’ from Twitter.

The Red Devils and the Tsarinas are considered the champions. Maybe new champions would emerge today. Maybe not.

#Networking
This is the interesting part.
TPL is a great opportunity for Tweeps to meet other Tweeps. You get to see, hear about or probably talk to people behind the handles.
Business talks happen, ideas fly, guys and girls hook up, people gossip…
