Unrequited Love, Choices and Insights From BBNaija Lockdown Week Three

The third week in the Big Brother Naija Lockdown House was emotional. The housemates had experienced their first evictions, – Lilo and Ka3na were the first housemates to be evicted from the house. On Monday, the housemates had their weekly Head of House challenge, as Lucy let go of the position and Ozo emerged the new Head of House. Viewers held their breath in anticipation of the choice of deputy that Ozo would make. Followers of the show would know it was between Nengi and Dorathy.

Sunday, August 2

Nengi in the first Head of House challenge emerged Head of House, and in the three weeks in the house, has already developed a taut relationship with Ozo, both in an endless push-pull dance, with Dora in between. Ozo on his part had announced early in the house that Dorathy was his friend, even confessing to Big Brother in a Diary session that he had formed an alliance with Dora. Dora was his best friend, Nengi was his love interest, Eventually, Ozo chose Dorathy. as deputy Head of House, further complicating the relationship between the three.

Erica and Laycon hit it off early in the house, forging a mental and emotional connection that was initially platonic. Soon Kiddwaya entered the picture and the physical attraction between Kidd and Erica was palpable, made even more obvious during a “Truth or Dare” game where the two shared a steamy kiss for 30 seconds. Laycon’s platonic feelings towards Erica soon became threatened by the obvious connection she shared with Kidd. Laycon becomes forlorn as he comes to terms with his feelings for Erica which she has made clear, she doesn’t share.

Tuesday, August 4

Brighto, in his own peculiar way of playing the game, is not involved in a relationship with anyone in the house but is involved in everyone’s relationships. A suggestion here, a whisper there, a comment there, Brighto’s involvement in influencing and manipulating the housemates is obvious to the viewers, but the housemates can’t seem to see what is right in front of them.

Wednesday, August 5

Eric lost his love interest, Lilo in the first set of evictions but seems to be handling it well, if at all. He also seems to be switching his interests to Kaisha. Kaisha on her part seems to be settling in better with the housemates, forging friendships with Tricktee and getting over her initial outsider syndrome.

Wathoni and TrickyTee continue their friendship, both unlucky in love. Wathoni initially interested in Kiddwaya turns her desires. towards hen Prince, but unfortunately is facing fierce competition.  TrikyTee holding a torch for Nengi but without luck.

Thursday, August 6

Lucy, head of house last week, lost her closest friend in the house, Ka3na and her power this week, but has developed a friendship with her deputy head of house, Prince.

Prince is a ladies’ man, a strong contender, has his eyes on Nengi, but is also open to playing the field, with TolaniBaj, given the relationship between Nengi and Ozo.

Vee and Neo continue their relationship and were both visibly disappointed when they lost the HOH games, as obviously any one of them that won the challenge, would have chosen the other as deputy, thereby securing their stay in the house for one more week.

The housemates face another eviction this Sunday, and though they had a good Wager challenge and are guaranteed better meals for the next week, the looming evictions cast a shadow.

All of the housemates’ feelings, activities and failings fuelled social media conversation, but the four that constantly emerged at the top of these conversations were, Nengi, Erica, Laycon, Ozo.
