Top 5 Places to go when bitten by the Wedding Bug

I feel like in my past life , I was either bitten by the “wedding bug or travel bug”, that must be the only explanation for why I’m always super excited for all things wedding and travel. I visited a lounge with my girl squad last weekend and I couldn’t help but have nostalgic thoughts of Weddings and Travel after taking one look at these Heineken bottles – Heineken is currently taking folks on a trip to Amsterdam, and I really don’t mind travelling again.

Now back to the purpose of this post, here are 5 places you should definitely put in mind when looking for the perfect wedding/honeymoon/girls trip destination in Africa and If you’re like me, then this post is for you !

First up is my personal favorite Mauritius, I have no other words to describe the Indian Ocean island nation known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs than Paradise – literally. Mauritius with its quiet, fresh clean air, beautiful beaches and breathtaking scenery is one of the few places left in the world where you can look forward to waking up to. From enjoying the scenery to exploring the adventures together, there are tons of things to do and places to visit when in Mauritius.

What to do while in Mauritius :

  • Hike the Le Morne Brabant.
  • Try Island Hopping round Île Plate,Île aux Benitiers,Îlot Gabriel and more.
  • Snorkelling
  • Visit Trendy Bars, Restaurants and clubs
  • Visit The Chamarel Falls and The ‘Seven Coloured Earth’ which holds different distinct colours including reds, browns and purples made up of sand dunes.

Its most iconic landmark is a climbable active volcano – Piton de la Fournaise. Now I know I said Mauritius was my personal favorite , but if you’re like me, a lover of peppering dem on the gram – as if your travelling to an exotic Island with an unheard name isn’t enough – then you should know Reunion Island has no peer in the Indian Ocean when it comes to photogenic landscapes. Which is why you are sure to be overwhelmed by the beautiful views; especially from the top of the volcanoes.Not to forget the Island is also a melting pot of multiple cultures – Creole, African, Indian, Chinese, and French – that was formed due to centuries of immigration therefore, you’re about to enjoy a mix of cultures… can you handle it?

What to do while in Réunion:

  • Visit and Climb the Piton de la Fournaise.
  • Visit some of the various historic and religious sites , and cultural centers like Hôtel de ville de Saint-Denis
  • Fall in Love with Sea life not just Sea food and take a visit to Aquarium de la Réunion, Kelonia Observatory of Sea Turtles, and Réunion Museum of Natural History.

Up next is Zanzibar, a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa.Popularly known as the“Spice Island” Zanzibar is one of the most exotic Islands in Africa with its luxurious beach hotels and resorts, National parks, sandy beaches, spice tours and cultural attractions, Zanzibar has it all when it comes to the best Honeymoon or Tourist destinations.

The Islands boastfful Nightlife.

  • Dance all night with the Squad at Katiolo while also enjoying hot snacks like french fries, fried chicken, and burgers.
  • Test your luck at the casion at Club Liberté
  • Hike through the Morne Seychellois National Park.
  • Try fishing on the Islands surrounding Mahe .
  • Go Adventourous with Ziplining
  • Island hopping from main island of Mahe to islands like Cerf island, La Digue and Praslin.

Nigerian passport holders do not require a visa for stays up to 30 days in Seychelles.

Wildlife lovers, get in here.
