Seyi Taylor: The Man Who Abandoned Medicine For Media, Tech & Design

Doctor Seyi Taylor is not your average medical school graduate. In fact, many know him more for his tech expertise than his clinical diagnostic skills.

Seyi chose not to follow the path of his colleagues in medical school after he got a laptop as a gift and became crazy about graphic art and design. He later developed further skills in digital marketing and online advertising.
Today, he is widely known as a new media specialist and tech entrepreneur.

In 2003, he became a partner at E37 Design where he was responsible for strategy, branding and new media projects. In 2007, he founded the Noah 69 Company, after which he founded Bloovue, an online and mobile advertising company – a business Seyi refers to as ‘smartadvertising’.

In 2014, Seyi Taylor, with Oluwafemi Bankole, created Big Cabal Media, an online media outfit. TechCabal, a product of Big Cabal Media, is one of Nigeria’s most popular technology news platforms (our own ‘Tech Crunch’) focused on promoting conversations around technology, mobile & internet trends in Africa. Seyi is also a regular contributor on TechCabal, writing on issues around digital media and technology businesses.

Big Cabal Media was also the brain behind the design and development of the popular Ebola Facts website. A project that was set up to provide knowledge and information to help the Nigerian populace and West Africans properly deal with the disease.

Seyi Taylor was awarded the British Council International Young Design Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007. In 2008, he was nominated for the Artist of the Year at the Future Awards.

Seyi is most likely on the internet when the rest of us are asleep, possibly trying out new technology and crafting digital business strategies for some lucky fellows out there.
