Today marks the 14th year since the World Trade Centre was attacked. This tragic incident left about 2,753 dead. Among these casualties was a man named Godwin Ajala, a security guard who worked at the World Trade Centre.

Godwin worked as a lawyer in Nigeria before immigrating to the United States in 1995. He got a job as a security guard at the World Trade Centre but was dissatisfied because of his level of his education in his home country and he knew he deserved more. He decided to take the New York Bar exams. He was a lawyer by destiny. So he adopted a routine – he worked his 6 a.m to 2 p.m shift, went home, took a nap then began reading for six to eight hours. America will change his destiny.
Unfortunately, he was caught in a battle he knew nothing about.

Godwin Ajala was last seen saving people in the World Trade Centre.
By the time of his death, he was 33 years old. He left behind a wife and three children – Onyinchechi, Uchechukwu and Ugochi.
“His dream was that he would take the law exam, pass it, and with that bring his family here and invite them to the swearing in,” Mr. Iwuanyanwa said. “He would have been much happier if his wife and kids were around.”
Rest Well Godwin Ajala.
