We don’t want to be a rumour mill, but if what we hear is true, then ‘winter is coming’.
According to Music Ally, social media giant, Facebook has plans of launching a music streaming service.
Unnamed sources have revealed that Facebook’s plans to monetize music videos is a step towards on-demand audio service.
Following Facebook’s willingness to buy into new businesses, like $19bn for messaging app WhatsApp, $2bn for virtual reality startup Oculus VR and $1bn for photo-sharing app Instagram, a music streaming service isn’t so far fetched.
If this is true however, Apple music, Spotify, Tidal, and all other music streaming platforms need to be very worried.
