5 reasons why every woman should watch Wonder Woman

Since its release, Wonder Woman has been a box office hit, beating movies like The Mummy to the number one spot, and receiving sterling reviews from movie critics around the world. The character, Diana (Wonder woman) has especially played a huge role in the massive love the movie has received.

Women have shed tears while watching it, the male folks have given it a thumbs up, and we honestly can’t get enough of how perfectly Gal Gadot displayed the awesomeness that is the female gender with her amazing portrayal of the character.

Here are five reasons why every woman needs to see Wonder Woman.

1. Duh, it’s Wonder Woman

I mean, she’s the most-loved female superhero of all time. She’s just a total badass and deserves all the attention she’s getting, plus more.

2. She is that female every woman aspires to be

All through the movie, Diana is portrayed as this strong woman that is both unapologetically female and fearless in a male-dominated world. She takes on men on battlefields, challenges sexist authorities and courageously fights for what she believes in, all the while maintaining her poise and femininity.

3. She has a love-interest that loves her for who she is and doesn’t feel intimidated by her strength

Her love interest, American Spy, Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) is never intimidated by the strength of her character. We don’t notice any of that chauvinistic attitude that is typical of the male gender when faced with strong women that are not afraid to stand up for themselves. Instead, all we see is his support and appreciation of all that she represents.

4. Nothing screams ‘female empowerment’ like the movie

Not only is the movie about a badass female character, director, Patty Jenkins also gives women all over the world a little extra something to be proud of. Considering it’s the first superhero movie to be directed by a woman, it’s safe to say we cannot wait to see more women in action.

5. It’s all round an awesome movie

Wonder woman has it all; action, drama, romance and more. It’s no wonder it was an immediate box office hit, earning around $300 million within the first week of its release.

It’s currently showing in cinemas around you. Go see it for yourself.
