Heineken Beverages International and the City of Dar es Salaam today announced plans to host an end-of-year beer carnival this December, in line with Heineken’s core values of joy, true togetherness and community while also spotlighting Dar es Salaam’s emergence as a vibrant cultural and business hub.

The carnival tagged ‘Bata la Disemba’ will hold from 6-8 December 2024 at Leaders club grounds and will feature live music, comedy, sports viewing, and local cuisine bringing together over 5,000 people in the heart of Tanzania’s economic capital.
“This carnival is a celebration of Dar es Salaam’s economic vitality and cultural dynamism,” said Hon. Albert Chalamila, Regional Commissioner for Dar es Salaam during a press briefing today. “As our city continues to drive Tanzania’s economic growth, events like this showcase our ability to attract international investment and tourism, further boosting our thriving economy.”
Heineken, a global leader in brewing, has long championed the idea that good things happen when people come together to share moments of joy. The Bata la Disemba Beer Carnival promises to embody this ethos, creating a festive space where friends, families, and visitors can unite in celebration.

Obabiyi Fagade, Country Manager for Heineken Beverages International in Tanzania, said: “Fostering togetherness and a sense of community is at the heart of everything we do at Heineken, and this carnival is another testament to that. Beyond the entertainment value, the carnival will also highlight and create substantial economic opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs. As Tanzania’s economy continues its upward trajectory, we’re proud to contribute our quota to the momentum.”
The recent consolidation of Heineken’s business in Tanzania to extend beyond beer, earlier this year, marked a significant milestone in the company’s growth in the country and is a demonstration of Heineken’s belief in its economic growth and development.

The carnival will host an exciting lineup of some of the biggest musical acts on the continent, including Zuchu, Master KG, Chino Kidd, Linah Sanga, Johmakini, G Nako and more. More details on musical acts, ticket sales, and programming will be announced in the coming weeks, promising an event that will not only entertain but also be the biggest event of the year.
As Tanzania continues to position itself as a key player in East Africa’s economic landscape, events like the Dar es Salaam End-of-Year Beer Carnival serve as both a celebration of current achievements and a beacon for future growth and international investment.
