BBNaija Shine Ya Eye: Launch Weekend Insights and Analysis

After the long wait, hype, and expectations, the biggest reality TV show on the continent, ‘BBNaija’ returned bigger than we ever thought. This 6th season, titled, ‘Shine Ya Eye’ kicked off last weekend with a double launch event that revealed the new set of male and female housemates on Saturday 24th and Sunday, the 25th of July 2021.

As the housemates came on stage, they introduced themselves and had a brief chit-chat with Ebuka, the host of the show before walking into the house. While that was going on, social media users and fans of the show began to make jokes, catch cruise, and just enjoy all the vibes the new housemates were bringing on.

Based on our data sources (IDA Research and Plaqad IQ), we’ve gathered some interesting insights and analytics on how the BBNaija season 6 housemates performed on social media as they begin to serve us all the drama, entertainment, and everything else we signed up for.

On the first day of the show, Emmanuel, White Money, Boma, and Yousef were the most talked about housemates with about 191.8k people talking about them and the reality TV show. 

Since the inception of BBNaija, this is the first time we’ll be getting a double launch show. Well, the organisers of the show, MultiChoice Nigeria, had promised us some twists this year and we are ready for all of it. 

We expected that the ladies will be the centre of social media conversations on Sunday, July 25, 2021, since it was the unveiling of the female housemates. However, Boma made another appearance as one of the five most talked about housemates on that day.

From the look of things, the most active conversations about everything BBNaija happens at 8 pm.

With about 3 months to go, we can’t wait for the housemates to start unfolding their true characters, falling in love, serving us memes, and hot gist to keep us entertained throughout the show.
