Awka To Play Host To The Tiger Street Football Tournament

International premium brand, Tiger Beer, is launching its global platform in Nigeria for the first time, The Tiger Street Football Tournament. Kicking off in Awka, this tournament is designed to take the game back to its roots, giving non-professionals the chance to showcase their raw skills and fearless energy on the pitch.

Each city will stage a full competition of its own, beginning with the round of 16 and building up to a one-day showdown of semi-finals and finals. The eight-player squad game offers prize money: the winners in each city will walk away with ₦5 million, second place will go home with ₦3 million, and the third- and fourth-placed teams will each earn ₦1 million.

For the players, it’s a rare chance to turn community bragging rights into real recognition, keeping alive the tradition of Nigerian street football that once shaped stars like Jay-Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, and Victor Osimhen. For fans, it’s set to be a festival of football, music, and community energy.

But it won’t just be about football. Fans can expect to experience all the brand expressions, from street food and art to music and fashion, at the Tiger Uncaged Experience, bringing the full culture of street football to life.

Registration closes on October 10th. If you and your team have the courage to take on Nigeria’s biggest street football stage, sign up now.
