It seems like two out of every five Nigerians have one of these eating habits that make you gawk. If you eat out a lot, there’s a very high chance you have met at least one member of this ‘association of food eaters’. Erm, you might also be their group leader, who knows?
1. The Belchers:

To them, belching after a meal is very relieving. But for those around them, it’s completely disgusting. Sometimes they make it feel like being able to belch loud is a secret talent they have.
2. The Loud Chewers:

Eating beside a loud chewer is something no one ever looks forward to. They are quite violent with the way they crush every single food particle. You can hear all the movements going on inside their mouths. Is it a war?!
3. The Finger Lickers:

These ones feel they are more sophisticated than the plate lickers. Truth is, they are five and six (and most of us fall under this category). Rather than eat with cutlery or wash their hands after a meal, they simply lick their fingers because they can’t let any of the deliciousness go to waste.
Erm, but is it really good food if you don’t lick your fingers?
4. The Mouth Openers:

First of all, eeeeeeewww….
You can clearly see the chewing process going on inside their mouths when they chew. They are usually talkative and don’t understand the words, ‘pause’ or ‘stop’. So while they eat, they serve you some hot gist and open every part of their mouth as they chew. *Cringes*
5. The Plate Lickers

These ones haven’t finished eating their meals except they leave their plate sparkling clean. They mostly use their index finger to clean up the plate, lick the finger, then proceed to lift their plate and lick it with their tongue, very skillfully. This makes them close associates with the finger lickers.
6. The Pickers

It’s very exhausting to host a food picker in your house. You need to be cautious of what ingredients to include in their meals, otherwise, they will pick it all out. The leader of this set of foodies is the one who meticulously picks out onions and vegetables. By the time they are done, what they have picked out of the food is more than the food left!
But you see, having any of these eating habits won’t matter during the #ALATFoodChallenge. The first episode is proof that nobody cares!
