I talk about being passion driven and goal-oriented all the time, but I met my match. As I am always in the middle of something, I got the “acceptance mail” in the middle of a particular event. I was very optimistic about the feedback, but nevertheless, I was still surprised. It was a very happy moment, but on the other hand, my Law School admission and posting came a week before the mail. Can I do it? Will I meet up expectations? Too many questions, but here I am, a month in. The right answer.
Life in IDA has been a rollercoaster. For every corporate office I go to, there’s always a new system to adapt to. In the beginning, like every beginning, it was all cozy and stress-free. Sadly, I didn’t get the memo. It started off like a very easy ‘task’ to do, you know when you start thinking in your head about the stress hype when everything is literally flexible and not difficult. The workload trooped in like a thief in the night, and even as I am writing this article, it has me in a chokehold.
I am learning a lot in IDA but the one that’s gradually changing my schedules and my life in its entirety is TIME MANAGEMENT. In IDA, my team, to be specific, live on deadlines. There’s always a timeframe for every task, and as my Team Lead will say, there are also consequences. My Team Lead is an actual “pusher”, and I must commend her and the rest of the team for always being ready to impact knowledge.
Public Relations & Communications had always been a mere admiration, I haven’t felt this much interest until I joined ID Africa, and it has only been a month. I look forward to more eye-openers and experiences in IDA. I look forward to meeting my team and every other person in IDA.
A month in IDA has made me a better person at work and everywhere. It has helped me with managing schedules and putting more effort into meeting expectations. Not to forget, my thought process has increased in pace as there are always new things to catch up with.
Cheers to better days in IDA!
