We all have that love/hate relationship with horror movies that somehow keeps us going back to them, knowing we’ll probably regret that decision for the next coming days. This 2017 has seen and is still expecting some of the scariest, most intriguing horror movies ever. Take a look at some of them below.

1. Annabelle: Creation
Formerly called Annabelle 2, the movie is the second part of the 2014 Anablelle, a spinoff of The Conjuring series. Going by the title, one can only assume that this is an origin story that will explain how Annabelle became the monster that she is.
The trailer shows a woman wielding a crucifix as protection as she faces a young woman surrounded by dolls. Very creepy stuff.
2. The Mummy
Tom Cruise, in this scary movie draws us into the world of dead people and monsters as he, along with his soldier buddy accidentally discover the tomb of a dangerous princess whose destiny was snatched from her, and whose burning thirst for revenge has led her to seize some very powerful powers that prove more terrifying than anything ever encountered.
3. The Bride
This Russian movie with English subtitles was released in cinemas in January. The story sees the spirit of a dead bride return to terrorize a family. Every scene of this trailer will give you the chills. Watch.
4. It Comes At Night
If you’re already scared of the dark, then this is one trailer you might want to completely avoid watching. Although a bit mysterious, it see the lives of two families being threatened by a supernatural force that tends to come out when the lights are out.
5. The Crucifixion
This British/Romanian story is based on the true life story of a nun who died in the hand of a priest who while performing an exorcism on her. A young journalist decides to go in search of answers and what she encounters is far beyond her wildest imagination.
6. Rings
Although the movie itself, which was released in February didn’t get great reviews, the trailer left much to be anticipated with its series of suspense-filled action scenes. The movie follows the life of a young woman who, in the quest to save her boyfriend from darkness, finds herself dealing with far more than she had imagined.
