Would you pay money to use Twitter?

After 11 years of running, Twitter is now considering the introduction of a premium version of its popular Tweetdeck interface aimed at professionals. This version will come with subscription fees, making it the organization’s first attempt at charging its users.

The giant social media platform, which has relied solely on advertising fees, has unfortunately been unable to make enough revenue to turn in a profit – despite its popularity among highly important personalities like US president, Donald Trump – unlike its larger rival, Facebook whose success over the years has grown incredibly.

Tweetdeck is an interface that helps users navigate the platform easily

Twitter already has over 300 million active users worldwide and a subscription-based version of Tweetdeck, an interface that helps users navigate Twitter conveniently, just might be a step in the right direction as millions of small and large organizations make use of the interface.

The new version, which might be ad-free, aims at creating more powerful tools that could help improve work for professionals as it would make finding out what is happening around the world a lot easier.

Social media platforms like LinkedIn, already offer different levels of paid-for membership that grant users wider access and data.

So would you be willing to pay? How deep is your love for Twitter?
