The Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), the country’s premier music conservatory, is set to host a grand celebration in honour of its 2025 graduating class. The two-part celebration kicks off with a Graduation Concert on Thursday, June 27, followed by the official Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 28, both taking place at the prestigious MUSON Centre in Lagos.

This year’s graduation marks another milestone in MUSON’s legacy of nurturing world-class musicians and cultural ambassadors. Students from the Diploma in Music programme, a rigorous two-year course run in partnership with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), UK; will showcase their talent, skill, and musical growth during the concert, performing an array of classical, contemporary, and African compositions.

The graduation ceremony on Friday will celebrate the academic and artistic accomplishments of the graduating class, with family, friends, faculty, and industry stakeholders in attendance.
Among MUSON’s many distinguished alumni is Joshua Olusanya, popularly known as the “Trumpet Influencer” or “BossBoss.” A proud graduate of the school, Joshua made history as the Guinness World Record holder for the longest marathon playing the trumpet, clocking an incredible 25 hours, 30 minutes, and 36 seconds. His feat reflects the discipline, endurance, and musical excellence that MUSON instills in its students.

Speaking ahead of the events, a spokesperson for MUSON noted, “Our mission has always been to shape musicians who not only master their craft but also contribute meaningfully to society. These graduation events are more than ceremonies, they are celebrations of passion, perseverance, and promise.”
As Nigeria continues to raise the bar in music education and performance, MUSON remains a beacon of artistic excellence and innovation.
