The 7th installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Furious 7, highly anticipated all over the world, has become a major box office success.
The movie, which has grossed almost $1bn in less than a month, has captured audiences not just because of amazing stunts, but because of Paul Walker. His part in the movie has been a major point of fascination for several people.
Walker, one of the original stars of the franchise passed away in November 2013 before all his Furious 7 scenes were recorded. Now what many fans want to know is how all the scenes finished after his death were made.
Here’s how… according to a visual effects studio in London, The Mill, technology has evolved so that it is possible to create actors entirely from 3D deposits. Robin Shenfield, CEO of The Mill says, “The eyes require a lot of work. Keeping motion continuous in the musculature and the eyes is the key to making it look real.”
Another theory, according to Complex.com, is that it is also possible that Furious 7 used 3D scans that were taken of the late actor when the filming for Fast and Furious just began, as was done on Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
This makes one wonder, if an improvement on the 3D magic that brought 2Pac back on stage in 2012 will enable Hollywood keep actors alive, in new movies much after their death.
RIP Paul Walker.
