Twitter Battles for Female Tennis Players and Their Costumes

In recent times, female tennis players have come under attack for their dressing on the tennis court and this has sparked so much mixed feelings between people as to why there is a clamp down on the female mode of dressing which is not applicable to their male counterparts.

Very recently ace female tennis player Serena Williams adopted a new costume for her first grand slam tournament in May just after returning from a 14months maternity leave. According to her this new catsuit inspired costume gear would help with blood circulation and help prevent blood clots during the game. She was however forced out of the tournament due to a chest injury she suffered, but it seems this was not well received as French Tennis Federation president, Thomas Giudicelli has kicked against the costume and said moving forward gears like that wont be allowed on the court of play and laws would be put in place to prevent any re-occurrence.

This same clamp down has found its way to the ongoing US open in New York as female french tennis player Alize Cornet was slammed with a violation on Tuesday for readjusting her shirt during a match.

The temperature of the court through the tournament has been 95degrees and players are mainly given 10mins heat break to rehydrate before they continue playing, in this period, Alize changed into a new shirt but wore it wrongly and had to switch it right on the court and this prompted a violation.

This has however prompted a new conversation with fans reacting to these on Twitter
