5 reasons why the world watched Nigeria and Iceland play today

Nigeria has been quite popular at the World Cup this year especially on Twitter and folks around the world are still interested in the scores despite the fact that our first match wasn’t very gucci because we lost 0-2 to Croatia. Here is why the world had its eyes on the Nigerian team today though.

1. The Nigerian jersey is still a fashion statement
Everyone is wearing the Nigerian jersey even though it’s nine days into the World Cup. The jersey was the reason why Nigeria was first popular because it won World Cup fashion and was winning on Twitter which we talked about here.

2.We have a world record
The Super Eagles looked like world champions in 1994 because we almost got to the finals of the match. In 1998, Nigeria gave the best players at Spain a shocking blow after they defeated them 3-2 on the field. Yeah, we’re cool like that.

3. People around the world genuinely wish us well
Many international people including P. Diddy wished Nigeria goodluck right before the last game and on Twitter all the buzz was on the Super Eagles. One particular lady in Kenya was quite loyal too. They want this game to be much better.

4.Because Argentina was beaten black and blue by Croatia yesterday
Yes, it surprised the world but it definitely didn’t surprise us here. We’re quite familiar with the Croatians taking advantage of a situation from our last match so our eyes were glazed when we heard that the first goal by the Croatians was a mistake by Argentina goal keeper, Willy Caballero who forgot he was not meant to pass the ball to an opponent standing right in front of the goal post. Just so you know, Argentina lost 0-3 to Croatia and are likely to be eliminated at the Group D stage. But Nigeria has a chance today.

5. Musa is the real GOAT
Nigeria has players that are very capable of owning the field and winning. One of them is Musa. He scored the two goals that placed Nigeria better at Russia.

Yes, Nigeria finally did it! We won Iceland 2-0 and are set to face Argentina as the final match for the Group D stage. Things are looking up.

Time to turn up!!!
